DFID Supported
Support Programme for Urban Reform Project
Support is solicited from the Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) for a addressing couple of activities to be pursued under the DFID supported Support Programme for Urban Reform (SPUR)
SPUR is a six years partnership programme (2008-14) between Government of Bihar and Department for International Development (DFID, UK). The programme aims at providing technical and management support to the Urban Development and Housing Department, its line agencies and the ULBs, to improve their capacities, to manage urban areas efficiently, provide better services on a sustainable basis to all citizens with special focus on urban poor; attract investments by transforming the ULBs as facilitators of growth, and to increase the rate of poverty reduction by 2014.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan
CIMP is helping Government of Bihar in conducting a study on “Sample Checking of DISE Data 2008-2009”. In this context a training programme was organised in the campus on February 14th, 2009.
MOU with Kudumbshree
CIMP plans to sign an MOU with Kudumbshree for creating a knowledge society through action research, capacity building, collaborative research for developing strategy formulation and policy modulation at state and national level. Kudumbshree is instrumental in promoting inclusive growth of urban poor to fight poverty through community action.
MOU with Centre for Development Studies
The Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, Kerala, has recognised CIMP for conducting national studies. CIMP would collaborate with the centre in carrying out a study on 'Macro-Economic Policy Impact in Sustainable Livelihoods of Rural Households' for the State of Bihar. CDS shall guide CIMP in finalising the design and methodology of the study. The Centre will provide CIMP research input and guidance by mobilising its faculty resources. The reports/Publications and other dissemination activities will be conducted jointly by CIMP and Centre for Development Studies.
MOU with Seikei University, Japan
Centre for Appropriate Technology, CIMP plans to sign MOU with Seikei University, Japan for students and faculty exchange programme. Japan is engaged in development and dissemination of state-of-art new technologies and management practices in the field of rural development. New and renewable energy sources development and management, environmental management by afforestation and degraded land reclaimation by water management, are some of the areas of interest.
Roots
CIMP in collaboration with UNESCO plans to work on a project, ‘Roots’, to streamline assimilation of the currently fragmented traditional knowledge and management practices in indigenous agricultural systems. The proposed plan will be implemented in five-phases over a period of 4 years.
