Research Centres
The institute has centres of research specifically focusing on the developmental issues of contemporary relevance benchmarked internationally.
Centre for Micro-Enterprises Management
In India, this is the first initiative of its kind. Micro-Enterprises are emerging as facilitators of economic activities, helping relatively poor and marginalised people living on the periphery of the main society. In India, micro enterprises, especially dealing with Micro-Finance activities, are increasing at a very fast pace. There is no institution in the country, which caters to this need for training functionaries of micro enterprises in the areas of management. The centre will fill this crucial gap.
Centre for Agri-Business Management
The centre for Agri-Business Management will focus on imparting training, research and consulting support to small scale and large scale business enterprises in india. In the context of the Government of India focusing on this sector with a large quantum of investment, Bihar can be the path leader and a beneficiary.
Centre for Social Entrepreneurship
The centre will initiate training and action research programmes on variegated dimensions of entrepreneurship in the socio–economic-cultural context of Bihar. This centre will contribute towards developing new entrepreneurial initiatives, having potential for transformation of professionals into social entrepreneurs.
Centre for Water Management
A Centre for Water Management is set up at CIMP to carry out research on the practices in water management in the state of Bihar and other lesser developed East Indian states. This centre will help converge research and policy analysis related to water management in Eastern India and Bihar.

CIMP will help the development of new managerial concepts for overcoming organisational issues involved in Microfinance. This will increase the effectiveness of micro level organisations and their activities.
